inspiration

I took these photos of Laura for her blog The Cup Theif and thought I'd share some of my favourite shots. We had a lovely day. Laura is one of the most inspiring people I know. She runs BettyMag and has big dreams of having a shop. You can buy BettyMag here:  Etsy

School

Over the last four weeks, I have been student teacher in a year 3/4 class. It has been interesting, exhausting, fun and a huge learning experience for me. Working full time for the first time ever for more than two weeks (usually working 3 days a week + full time uni) has made me realise lots of things about life. It was my last day today and I got an amazing report from my teacher and the principal. I can't wait to be a teacher! I just wanted to share with you, the things that this prac has made me realise.

1. These days, people expect you to be contactable ALL. THE. TIME.
Almost every time I checked my phone at lunch during a hectic day teaching, I'd have missed calls, several text messages, facebook messages and snap chats. It felt so overwhelming! Especially when NONE of these messages or phone calls are very important. People expect a reply instantly, even on facebook it seems. I resorted to only checking my phone at the end of the day and felt much better for it. From now on I'm going to try not to check my phone so frequently!

2. You don't have any time to WORRY about pointless things
Here people are, worrying about it being a bit cold/rainy and deciding whether to wear a jacket out on a freezing cold night (*head desk*) and I'd just spend the day trying to get 9 year olds to understand how to tell the time! Working everyday makes you realise that the little things do not matter. When you're at work all day, come home, make dinner and go to bed, you don't have time to dwell on anything. Life becomes more about working and less about what people are wearing/doing or whatever...

3. I appreciate sleep so much more.
After listening to 20 kids screaming all day, the best bit is knowing you've really earned your sleep that night!

Some of the kids in my class have it really tough, and it makes me realise how very lucky I am to have what I have; especially an amazing dad. Hopefully I can keep these things in mind when uni starts again and I won't be on facebook so much!

Cookies and fun

Fun things that have happened lately!

I got a new camera! It's so much better than my old one. I've been modelling for some learning photographers, so I can learn how to take better photos for free ;)

These photos were taken by Bandagon Style and Photography and we are wearing entirely RagTag clothing. Yay woo! I pledged to their Pozible campaign for them to be advertised in Vogue and they made it!

I made cookies for my last day at the primary school.

And went to Richmond and saw these lovely bikes you can hire and ride around.

What a great week xx

Saturday Night

Spent the entire day doing absolutely nothing for the first time in.... Maybe a few years. No study and only had to baby sit for three hours in the afternoon. Now crafting and watching New Girl! Alone on a Saturday night never felt so good.

Dark Mofo + Rag Tag

On the weekend I did so many fun things!

I saw so many friends.  I went to the opening night of Dark Mofo, a 10 day festival here in Hobart. Jennifer Lawrance starred in one dj's set.... They had remixes of snippets from movies. Such a cool idea!

I was asked to take photos for a show on Saturday night, Sound and Light. I felt pretty special with my press pass lanyard...

On Sunday I got to dress up in lovely clothes from Rag Tag and be photographed by BandWagon. It was so much fun, I really want to buy the whale bag!

aaaaaaand last night I saw The Great Gatsby! I thought it was filmed beautifully, and took me through many emotions... So much feeling!

stay colourful.

Winter Vibes

I did a little shoot yesterday for BettyMag about Winter! It's certainly getting colder, I'm wearing socks and long sleeved pjyamas to bed every night! I have really grown to appreciate winter and enjoy wearing lovely warm clothes and seeing the leaves fall around us as the weather changes. Off to prac tomorrow for four weeks! Wish me luck!

I miss blogging

I just went through all my old posts and have realised i really miss doing this and need to take many more photos!

I went to a zine making workshop run by two lovely girls. I had so much fun connecting with many people and creating a page for the zine.

"Life is like the act of taking photos. Simply focus on your object(ive) and don't let anything else blur out your visions. Your photo is your visualization of life."
